Booking terms
How online bookings work
Plain-English terms that apply to every booking request made through this site.
Booking and confirmation
- Instant quotes and booking requests are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Same-day requests are accepted, subject to BHX approval and driver availability.
- Submitting a booking request does not mean your booking is confirmed.
- Bookings remain subject to BHX review and approval.
- If BHX approves a request, BHX may contact you to confirm the booking details and provide the Booking Fee required to secure the booking.
- A booking is not secured until any required BHX Booking Fee has been received.
- Transport remains subject to availability and BHX approval.
- Booking requests can be made no more than 3 months ahead.
- Booking requests are usually reviewed within 1–2 hours. This timeframe is not guaranteed.
- Customer support is available 10am–9pm, 7 days a week. Vehicle transport and recovery can take place 24/7, subject to BHX approval and driver availability.
Estimated quotes and final pricing
- Prices generated by the online quote system are estimates.
- Estimated mileage, routes and pricing may vary due to current road conditions, road closures, diversions, routing information or material booking details.
- BHX confirms the final price when approving your booking.
- Once confirmed, the agreed price should not change unless you change the booking, or the information or conditions you provided materially differ from what was supplied.
- Vehicle recovery and transport from £75.
- Price is based on loaded mileage from the collection point to the delivery point only.
- Journeys over 300 loaded miles are quoted manually.
- Standard journeys collected on a bank holiday carry a 25% surcharge.
- Every online quote is subject to BHX approval.
Payment structure
- No payment is taken when you submit a booking request.
- The Booking Fee is provided after BHX has reviewed and approved the request.
- Any required Booking Fee must be received to secure the booking.
- The remaining agreed balance is paid directly to the independent driver after successful delivery.
Independent drivers
- Vehicle transport and recovery may be fulfilled by independent drivers using their own recovery vehicles and equipment.
- BHX coordinates the booking between you and the assigned independent driver.
- Not every recovery vehicle or driver is owned or employed by BHX.
Vehicle condition, collection information and driver responsibility
- You must provide accurate information about the vehicle's condition, including whether it runs, drives, rolls or steers where this is requested during booking.
- If the vehicle or collection circumstances materially differ from the information provided, BHX or the assigned transport provider may need to reassess whether the collection can safely or reasonably be completed.
- The assigned driver may take photographs and/or a walk-around video of your vehicle before loading and after delivery to document its condition.
- You should ensure any existing damage or relevant vehicle condition is disclosed before transport.
- Any claim or dispute relating to vehicle damage, mechanical condition, loading or unloading, transportation, or the driver's handling of the vehicle is primarily between you and the independent driver carrying out the transport.
- BHX may provide relevant booking information, photographs, videos or other records it holds to help you and the driver resolve a dispute.
- This does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Cancellations
- Cancellation at least 24 hours before the agreed collection time: the BHX Booking Fee is refundable.
- Cancellation within 24 hours of the agreed collection time: the BHX Booking Fee is non-refundable.
- This 24-hour threshold applies to cancellations and does not prevent customers from submitting a same-day booking request.
Customer no-show / failed collection
- If an assigned driver attends the agreed collection location and you or the vehicle are unavailable, inaccessible, or the job cannot proceed because of circumstances attributable to you, the BHX Booking Fee may be retained and applied to the driver as a call-out/cancellation amount.
Customer information
- You are responsible for ensuring that information supplied during the quote and booking process is accurate and complete.
- You must inform BHX of relevant circumstances that could affect collection, loading, transport or delivery.
- This includes relevant issues such as whether the vehicle runs, rolls, steers, brakes release, keys are available, wheels are fitted, damage, access restrictions and other loading difficulties.
- Materially incorrect or incomplete information may result in the price, arrangements or ability to perform the job being reviewed.
- If the actual vehicle or job materially differs from the information supplied, BHX or the driver may pause the job and require a revised price before proceeding.
- If you refuse the revised price and the job cannot reasonably proceed, the BHX Booking Fee may be applied to the driver's call-out/cancellation costs.
Authority to move the vehicle
- The person arranging the transport must have the owner's permission or otherwise have lawful authority to arrange the collection, release and transportation of the vehicle.
- You are responsible for ensuring that BHX and the assigned transport provider or driver are permitted to collect the vehicle from the stated location.
Identification and proof of authority
- BHX and/or the assigned transport provider or driver reserve the right to request reasonable identification or evidence of authority to release or transport a vehicle where reasonably required.
- This may include unattended collections or circumstances where ownership, authority, collection instructions or the circumstances of the job require clarification.
- If identification or evidence reasonably requested cannot be provided, BHX may decline to confirm or proceed with the collection.
Unattended collections
- Where you indicate that nobody will be present at collection, identification may be required if the booking is approved.
- You must ensure that appropriate access, keys, permission and collection instructions are available before the agreed collection.
Waiting time
- The first 30 minutes of waiting time is included.
- Where a delay outside the control of BHX or the driver exceeds 30 minutes, an additional £20 may be charged for each additional 30-minute period.
- Any such waiting charge is payable directly to the driver.
Failed delivery after collection
- Once your vehicle has been collected, the agreed driver balance remains payable where delivery cannot be completed for reasons outside the reasonable control of BHX or the driver.
- Additional reasonable waiting, redelivery or storage charges may apply where necessary.
Booking changes
- Changes after submission or approval — including vehicle, collection location, delivery location, date or time, vehicle condition or other material job information — are subject to BHX approval and may result in recalculation or repricing.
Vehicle contents and safety
- Personal belongings may remain in the vehicle at your own risk, but valuables should be removed.
- Dangerous, illegal or prohibited items must not be left in the vehicle.
- Any known leaks, safety issues or hazards must be declared before transport.
- A vehicle must be reasonably safe for loading and transport, or it may require further assessment before the job can proceed.
